On the Drawing Board - Projects in the Works

I have been overwhelmed by all the daily responsibilities I have at home and with my son but I also have a number of creative projects in the works that need to be addressed and executed. Now, most people would pare down their list but not me. I believe that where there is a will, there is a way. My garden may have a few weeds and my house will be a mess(it already is and with a 2 year old I don't see that changing much!) Time is of the essence, I'm not getting any younger(41 this year can you even believe it? How exactly does that happen? I feel maybe 19 at the oldest except when my joints ache!LOL)

So here is a little list of things in the works. I'm trying to figure out how to manage my time while still making the wee tot number one priority, he is after all only little once and being my only child, I only get to see all the glorious stages once in my lifetime.

1. Transform a local city's store fronts into a Holiday spectacle that will draw people for miles to see. I have a town in mind and am currently working on the proposal. I hope to include in the process the community's school children, businesses, college, local artists, designers and the like. Very early planning stages but my dream is to execute this idea by Christmas 2010.
2. Write one of three books in my head. The above illustration is a drawing I did when I first had the idea. It is an adventure about a jaded Christmas elf who is sent out into the world to find himself and the true meaning of the holidays.
3. Fill my Christmas Etsy shop to the brim with all the ornaments I have designed. It's all about execution right now and time is a wasting. Christmas is only 6 1/2 months away!
4. Work on my new series of prints for my regular Etsy shop. It is also going to be the artwork in my son's room. He loves puppies so it is a series based on different dogs in different locales around the world. I'll post sketches and finished paintings when they are done. (It is going to be a little while, but I have accumulated most of the reference photos I need to make a good start)
5. Finish a few loose ends of products I've already introduced into my product line but haven't updated and replenished yet. This will probably be the first thing I do because it's old hat and will take the least amount of time and effort.

So there you have it, my birthday is in August and I hope to have a majority of these making serious headway. I'm sure I'll share all my accomplishments as well as frustrations as the surface. Right now, I'm experiencing a frustrated 2 year old so I am out of here!
